For 2022, VeVe has partnered with DesignerCon International for a variety of events and drops. Beginning with a June kickoff party at the beautiful 3DRetro campus in Glendale, CA, DesignerCon will have monthly drops leading up to DesignerCon UK (September 3–4, 2022) and DesignerCon Anaheim (November 18–20, 2022). Scott Tolleson — DCon Mascot (U.K. Edition)
Designed by artist Scott Tolleson, the iconic and ever-changing DesignerCon mascot — lovingly known as Vincent by diehards — is a character that has evolved over DCon’s many years. Every new DesignerCon event comes with a brand new theme for the show, and Vincent evolves to match that theme each year. If you look back through DCon shows over the last decade plus, you will find a Vincent to match.
Before DCon was called DCon, the event was held in a small conference room of the Pasadena Convention Center. As the event grew up and the show expanded into other areas of design, illustration, and fine art, the mascot grew with it, becoming known as Vincent. DCon has now hopped the pond, and this figure marks the first official release for a new, United Kingdom-themed Vincent.

Kai Cao
Growing up in LA, Kai immersed himself in sneaker and Hypebeast culture. A part of him always wanted to make a toy that represents the varied pieces of who he is. One of his favorite foods from his hometown of Shanghai is the Sheng Jian Bao, aka Pan Fried Pork Bao. With the help of artist Jerome Lu, Cao created the character HypeBao. He is a combination of hometown favorite pan fried dumplings and the hyped attire associated with sneaker culture. To the HypeBao and VeVe families, we hope you’ll enjoy this brand new character and figure that represents Kai in every way.

The HypeBao vinyl art toy is created by Kevin ‘Kai’ Cao and designed by Jerome Lu. Collector, Industry veteran (DesignerCon), personality and toy producer, Cao has created HypeBao to reflect the things that get him hyped; from Sheng Jian Bao (pan fried dumplings) from his home town of Shanghai, to supremely styled streetwear, to sick kicks. The O.G. edition features HypeBao cooling in a black hoodie with ‘Panfried’ box logo, paired with Red/Black Sneakers.

XLARGE
XLARGE first opened its flagship doors in the East Hollywood neighborhood of Los Feliz, 1766 N. Vermont Street, back in 1991. The idea of forming a brand came to co-founder Eli Bonerz after working as an assistant at an architecture firm and growing bored of his position. “Let’s do some kind of new business like… a fashion store,” he told his former college roommate, Adam Silverman. Eli’s dad gave them some startup money, Adam was down and even had a connection to Mike D of the Beastie Boys (he met him at a dog park!). Mike’s mutual interest in this emerging style — which blended workwear brands with sneakers and street fashion — turned into an investment. XLARGE was born.
XLARGE — Running Keith — Modern
During DesignerCon 2021, XLARGE burst onto the VeVe scene with the “Little Friends” figure of their iconic, O.G. gorilla mascot. Starring alongside the gorilla on the signature Japanese brand’s streetwear is Keith the chimpanzee for DCon22. Seen always with a smile — usually wearing a cartoon bowler hat or holding a cigar on XLARGE hats, hoodies and graphic tees — this piece marks the first animated, 3D iteration of the alternate mascot worldwide.
This textured Modern edition displays a full color, looping run animation as the first fully animated collectible in the VeVe x DCon collection.

Valfré
Ilse Valfré is a Mexican contemporary artist known for eccentric female characters showcasing a wide range of emotion. Her signature retro futurist style is at once modern and vintage, and resonates with a large community.
From Playas De Tijuana, a border-town where the US and Mexican border wall disappears into the Pacific, Valfré’s unique style developed at the countries’ and cultures’ intersection. From a young age, her exploration outside of traditional genres welcomed contrast and harmony, beginning with drawing as therapy and becoming a new world that celebrates the female spirit.
In 2013, Ilse founded Valfré with a mission to create unique products and experiences that are a direct reflection of the psychedelic world that she has created. Ilse has long viewed the internet as her art gallery and her site as the gift shop. With her varied background across digital and analog art, Ilse’s creativity is not bound by the confines of one medium, allowing her to freely explore.
